Why we stopped fixing federal roads — Delta govt

Delta State Government says it has not been adequately reimbursed for its interventions on federal roads in the state.

The Commissioner for Works, James Augoye, stated this yesterday at a media briefing  in Asaba.

“We received part repayment on the Asaba-Ughelli federal road construction, which enabled us to recommence work on the project but the money was inadequate”, he said.

He, however, did not disclose how many kilometres of federal roads the state government had fixed, the cost incurred and the exact amount reimbursed so far.
