Police Raid Illegal Refineries In Delta

Police in Delta state have raided hideouts of illegal oil bunkers in Ifie Kporo community, Warri South LGA, destroying unspecified amount of illegal refined Automotive Gasoline Oil (AGO) and Kerosene.

According to ACP Mohammed Garba, Warri Area Commander, who led the operation said the operation was carried out following a tip off about the illegal activities in the community, saying the products were loaded in drums, jericans and sacks while others were inside wooden boats.

He said the illegal oil bunkering hideouts were close to several tank farms locations in the area, but when bunkers saw the police team approaching they took to their heels leaving behind their belongings.

He warned the illegal oil bunkers in the community to desist from the illegal activities or be ready to face the full wrath of  the law.

“What we did here today is a sound warning to all illegal oil bunkers. I want to let them know that i will not compromise any illegal oil bunkering’’.

Garba explained that the exercise would be a continuous process even as he warned that any police officer caught aiding and abating the criminals will be severely death with.
