The Frenchman won a penalty after being fouled by Conor Coady in the dangerous area.
However, the former Juve star saw his spot-kick excellently saved by Wolves goalkeeper Rui Patricio as the match went on to finish 1-1.
Furious fans later took to social media cursing the World Cup winner, with some subjecting him to disgusting racist abuse.
United have however come out to condemn the attacks, promising action against the perpetrators.
“Everyone at Manchester United is disgusted by the racial abuse aimed at Paul Pogba and we utterly condemn it,” the club said in a statement.
“We will work to identify the few involved and take the strongest course of action available to us,” the statement added.
