Oleh – Nicholas Mutu, representing Bomadi/Patani Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has hailed Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State for the ongoing construction of high tension power tower across River Forcados, Bomadi, to reconnect the area to the national grid.
When a delegation of Bomadi Federated Communities led by Joseph Bekesuoyeibo, the chairman, paid Mutu a thank-you visit for attracting development to the town, he posited that the bold step taken by Okowa “shows that he has a listening ear”.
On the flood ravaging Bomadi, Mutu promised to liaise with the state government to see if the issue was in the state budget or to add it to Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC)’s budget to avoid duplication of projects.
Earlier, Bekesuoyeibo had expressed joy and appreciation to Mutu for attracting and executing the road projects that transformed the landscape and increased commercial activities in the town.
The highly-elated Bekesuoyeibo posited that the road projects not only eased the means of transport but also increased the number of private property developers in the town.
According to him, in the past, communities had to write to the government and agitate for development. “Now because we have a God-fearing leader at the Green Chamber of the National Assembly, we wake up to see these laudable projects by our doorsteps.”
Editor Zibimor, a community leader, said at the event that Bomadi had to show appreciation to the federal lawmaker to encourage him to do more.
He however appealed for the construction of drainages that would ease the perennial flooding problems faced by the town.
