My Political Struggles Will Be Sustained Until My People Are Liberated – Reps Candidate

Asaba – All Progressive Congress (APC), Candidate for Ndokwa/Ukwani Federal Constituency, Delta State, has vowed that his political struggles would be sustained until his people were liberated.

He equally lamented the poor development of his community.

Odili, who spoke with newsmen on Tuesday in Asaba on his post-election experience, said he ventured into politics to liberate the Ndokwa/Ukwuani community from abject poverty.

He said though he lost to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Candidate, “Ossai Nicholas Ossai”, in the February 23 elections in the area, it was a good experience.

He said that the context has shown that the Nigerian electorate needed more political education to inform their choice of candidates during elections than just monetary and material empowerment.

“My coming into politics was to engage the Federal Government to directly impact our communities being an oil and gas producing.

“Over the years, there has been no payback to my communities commensurate to what the Federal Government takes from it.

“We are the least developed community in terms of social and infrastructural amenities and there should be a Marshall plan from the Federal Government to address the roads, electricity, water, schools, health facilities.

“Our community is in terrain very difficult for the state government to handle alone but Federal Government intervention to build.

“I was going to the national assembly fight and negotiate to ensure that our people get what they need to catalyse economic development in the area not just to come and empower the youths,” Odili said.
