There was wild jubilation in Isiokolo, the headquarters of Ethiope-East Local Government Area of Delta State, as a heavily pregnant woman, Mrs. Otiri Benjamin, Tuesday delivered a baby girl during the a campaign of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
DAILY POST learnt that the medical team which accompanied the governor to the campaign successfully delivered the woman of the baby.
The woman is from PDP ward 10 Unit 7 in Ekaka village a suburb in Kokori community.
Party faithful said the baby is a gift to the PDP campaign organisation in Ethiope-East.
An elated Delta state governor, Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa said the birth of the newborn was a sign of victory for him and other candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the forthcoming polls.
Governor Okowa, who spoke in pidgin English, said, “Na sign God show una for here so. Na we deliver the woman. The pikin dey alive and the mama dey alive.
“This one na from God and na better thing. Na victory God bring for us all of us.
“This one na victory for Hon. Evance Ivwurie, this one na victory for Ben Igbakpa, this one na victory for Hon. Evelyn Oboro. This one na victory for me too.”
Governor Okowa thanked the people of Ethiope-East LGA for the support accorded his administration just as he promised to continue to empower the youths, women, elders of the area.
The Governor urged the people to vote for him in the forthcoming elections as well as ensure they guard their votes jealously.
The PDP campaign chairman, Prof. Sam Oyovbaire, in a remark at the colourful event, said, “this is a miracle. We have had what we didn’t have in other campaigns.”
Oyovbaire urged the people of Ethiope-East Local Government Area to vote en masse for Gov. Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa in the forthcoming governorship election.
