A possible return of Hannibal is one of those topics that crop up regularly on the TV series scene. Since its cancellation in 2015, everybody involved in the project has been openly in favour of the adventure continuing, from creator Bryan Fuller to actor Mads Mikkelsen.
Now, for the first time in two years, a Hannibal revival does have a small chance of becoming reality: Bryan Fuller, now showrunner for American Gods, has apparently started negotiations with De Laurentiis, the series’ production company.
He confirmed this info via Twitter, answering a question from a user acting as a spokesperson for the fans (the famous “Fannibals Family”).
True, this is far from being an official order for a fourth season, but still… These negotiations could very quickly take a turn for the worst though, especially since Bryan Fuller has left the Stark Trek: Discovery team in order to fully focus on American Gods (and, unofficially, because of artistic differences). He might not have enough room in his diary for this new series, but at the same time, it would be an opportunity for him to set free his overflowing creativity.
Conversations couldn’t start until 2 years after the final airing of season 3. @neoprod has started those conversations. This takes time.
