The Delta State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Great Ogboru, yesterday, described the postponement of last Saturday’s elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as an occupational hazard.
Ogboru, who addressed newsmen at his home in Abraka, Ethiope East LGA of Delta State, said INEC’s decision, which it blamed on logistics, was an indication that the commission was poised for credible polls.
“It will give us time to perfect our plans and make sure that the issue of logistics is taken care of, since the voters have made up their minds on who to vote for.
“I can tell you that INEC’s decision to postpone the election is an occupational hazard, which can happen any time,” Ogboru said.
On whether the postponement would diminish the party’s chances at the polls, the APC governorship candidate appealed to his supporters to be calm and firm ahead of the new date of the elections.
He further urged those who were disappointed by the postponement to see it as part of politics, adding that it was at the behest of INEC to fix dates of elections at its convenience.
“We are not going to change the minds of the people because we have won the election for Buhari already,” he added.
