Delta govt issues ultimatum to street traders

UGHELLI-The Delta State Government, yesterday issued a 21-day ultimatum to those trading on major streets in the State to vacate and relocate to the main markets in their areas or face the wraths of government.

The State Commissioner for Environment and Chairman of the State Task Force on Control and Removal of illegal structures, Mr Frank Omare, who issued the ultimatum in Ughelli, while on inspection tour of the area, also said all illegal structures blocking natural water ways in the State would be demolished without minding whose ox is gored.

Disclosing that they would commence work on opening up of all water ways in Ughelli and its environs next week Monday, he directed the Director of Personnel Management, DPM of the local government council, Mr Emmanuel Erhisere to hire the services of a town crier to announce to the people  the intention of government.For information about financing check outmerchant advance pay
